What the H-E-L-L, Stock???

Stock, what that?

Stock, also referred to as the “Equity” or “Share” or Stock Market is one of the most common and oldest market in the world. Why do I say it is common as simply you talk to anyone on the street who know nothing about investing, they will tell you investing and trading(speculation) is about stock.

Plain and simple, stock is a share in the ownership of a company. Stocks represent a claim on the company’s assets and earnings. As you acquire more stock, your ownership stake in the company will be larger.

Trading What the F—U—C—K?

Trading is simply exchange of goods.

Just like in our normal everyday life, buying foods and all our necessity, all need  trading money to the goods (physical) that we want .

What is traded on the Stock market?

The simple answer is Company. Stock trading is simply buying or selling of the company share. Stock Trading are traded through broker or dealer

Think of buying a stake in a particular company.

When you buy, let say McDonald, you are in effect buying a share in the company, as the price of the company is a direct reflection of what the market thinks about the current and future health of McDonald.
Being a shareholder of a public company does not mean you have a say in the day-to-day running of the business. Instead, one vote per share to elect the board of directors at annual meetings is the extent to which you have a say in the company. For instance, being a Microsoft shareholder doesn’t mean you can call up Bill Gates and tell him how you think the company should be run. In the same line of thinking, being a shareholder of proctor and gamble doesn’t mean you can walk into the factory and grab a free case of head and shoulder shampoo!
Think of it as you vote for a president, as a citizen ,you have the rights to vote and select the president that you want, but that does not mean that you have a say for the whole country day to day running.

What do I need to get in order to start trading?

Until the late 1990′s, only the “big guys” could play this game. The initial requirement was that you could trade only if you had about fifty to hundred thousand bucks to start with! However, because of the rise of the Internet, online Brokerage discount trading firms are now able to offer trading accounts to ‘retail’ traders like us.

All you need to get started is a computer, a high-speed Internet connection, and the information contained within this site.

Ustradingdiary.com was created to introduce novice or beginner traders to all the essential aspects of stock trading, in a fun and easy-to-understand manner.

  4. 4. University( Year 1 -4 )

This is how our lessons are broken apart, so you can relive the past and also be able to learn and study stock trading techniques at your own pace – but our school goes beyond the secondary 4!

But there’s more!

Wall Street sigh of relief

June 18, 2009 by K H Ooi

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Wall Street probably won’t be cheering the raft of new reforms unveiled officially Wednesday by the Obama administration, but it is breathing a big sigh of relief.

Wouldn’t you, if you knew you weren’t getting a pay cut?

Under the plan, Wall Street, meaning investment banks, banks, insurance companies and hedge funds — anything that could potentially bring down the financial system — will be subject to tight controls on leverage, derivatives and retail products, alongside the threat that the government could unwind any institution it deems too big and dangerous. See text of the president’s prepared remarks.

The reforms, particularly limits on leverage, will curtail some of the profits made by big and freewheeling bets on trading floors. This is going to make it tougher for Goldman Sachs Group Inc.(GS 139.85, +0.12, +0.09%) to make $9.3 billion and $11.4 billion a year as it did in 2006 and 2007, respectively, but it’s not going to make it impossible.

But considering the level of government intervention on Wall Street less than 10 months ago, it’s a small price to pay. Goldman, Morgan Stanley (MS 27.55, +0.07, +0.26%) and other firms were saved by massive cash infusions into American International Group Inc.(AIG 1.41, +0.01, +0.71%), Fannie Mae (FNM 0.64, +0.01, +1.91%) and Freddie Mac(FRE 0.68, -0.01, -1.45%). TARP money rained down in October on a financial industry engulfed by wildfire.

The government has backstopped Wall Street with more than $1.2 trillion in direct aid and guarantees. For that, Wall Street is only being required to give up some say in risk taking. There are no onerous limits on executive compensation, or on any compensation.

The biggest relief may be that the government never embraced a reversion to Depression-era limitations on what financial firms can do. J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.(JPM 32.80, +0.06, +0.18%) can both be a bank and investment bank under this scenario. It can probably sell some insurance, too, if it chooses to do so.

It may some day.

In an effort to protect the system without taking away the ability to reap profit from risk, the Obama administration — advised by a group of regulators, academics and former Wall Street executives — has given the benefit of the doubt to the market.

Financial stocks are down, but they will recover. You’re still alive and in the game if you’re still breathing.
